eBay has helped keep me solvent during some rough years, and while I have never really worked at it full time, I have consistently brought in an extra thousand dollars a month from selling random collectibles and various refuse of consumer culture.
I have turned my garage into a factory of sorts. My kids will never have the joy of going into the garage and helping their old man work on a vintage Chevy, I plan on employing them in said factory as soon as they can read, count, write, and safely manipulate a pair of non-safety scissors.
I feel somewhat bad for my kids because they are surrounded by hundreds of cool toys and books, all of which they are not to touch, open, breath on, or otherwise defile with their grubby little kid hands. That being said, eBay keeps me sane and keeps my collector’s impulse subdued and marginally profitable.
