Faith and other Shit

(was going to remove, but this is where the freewrite started, gets going in para2). I think my books are real pretty. There is so much there–the colors, the shapes, the physicality, and geometricity of them the letters, the words, the fragments of ideas thrown so haphazzardly at one another–and the words that stand out–how they get ahold–a block border, glint text, BOLD FREEDOM in jagged letters splattered, no, just near something red ,, blood red, but not splattered.   How do you remove violence from your mind. Does anyone have anything to say about this? Jesus: “Buy a sword…” And you run into a road block right there–it’s not a major roadblock, the rabbit hole can be filled–somewhat–by the notion of Jesus being overwhelmed…

But more than that, I wish them more than a few days a semester wherein they feel happy. And if they can’t have that, I wonder why I’ve done this at all. But on a few days, that hollow inside me, carved out empty like the soles of a junkie’s shoes, was filled with what I think is known, by the few who possesses it, as joy.…

Summer Reading (In Process–Draft)

The Maxx–Read issues 1 through 20 so far. Julie is healed-ish, and the Maxx is apparently going to turn into a horse.   Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas (IDW) Tim Little? I’m a little too settled for gonzo living, but rehasing (hah!) the story in a visually dominant medium was still enjoyable. I enjoyed the work.   Nailbiter Volume 1–Serial killer small town mystery horror story. I really enjoyed the…
